ABOUT A NEWFOUND TRANSFORMATION

If you have ever had a place in the world where, no matter what was going on, you felt safe and knew that while you might not ever be “ok”,  you would survive…  A Newfound Transformation pays homage to that place.   I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to make a home in a place that has alway granted me peace and serenity, and it was there for me when I needed it the most.  It helped foster my own transformation, emotionally and physically, following a particularly dark time. That place has become a state of mind and avenue for me to be able to provide wellness services to others.

Let’s start with… I’m human and experience the same struggles as everyone else - personally and professionally.  Does that mean I am not equipped to help?  To the contrary! My lived experiences, both wonderful and difficult, enhance my practice by adding a unique touch of genuine empathy, understanding, and motivation to help others improve.  I am passionate about empowering others to transform their lives by accepting their past, managing their present, and being excited for their future.

I believe that the different aspects of health and wellness should not be isolated and treated, or referred to, in silos.  Is it really possible to say you are in “good health” if you have no social outlets or are constantly struggling financially?  Are you in “good health” if you feel sad on a daily basis, even though physically/medically there is nothing wrong with you?  Or what if you feel great, have plenty of friends, and a great job, but are overweight and constantly in pain?  When there is one area that could use improvement, the impact that one area can have to the others can be detrimental.  As such, when you improve in one area, other areas also improve.

As an independently clinical social worker and fitness professional I can help you assess, navigate, and work with you on your different needs.  I can partner with you to explore what health, wellness, and balance means to you and develop a plan on how to achieve it. It has always been the variety of life and diversity in people that excites me about my work.  I respect that we are all unique beings with independent strengths and various core values. Everyone’s roadmap to their goals are different… and I look forward to being a part of your journey.

My name is Erin.

As a fitness pro & Nutrition Coach

After many years of participation in various exercise classes and training programs, in 2017 my trainer/mentor encouraged me to obtain professional fitness certifications.  I am a Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Diet & Nutrition Coach. I am also a Pro Division Member of the WBFF (Pro Fitness Diva).  I teach classes such as cardio & core, circuit training, interval training, and barre.  The physical and mental health benefits of exercise and diet have played a huge role in my personal and professional journey - and I want others to have that same opportunity. I believe that finding a realistic balance and variety of physical activity that works for the individual person - a routine that keeps you excited and challenged - is what leads to fitness success. I love seeing the progress people make toward their goals and celebrating their transformations. Online coaching and virtual personal training provides me with the incredible opportunity to work with clients that I may not have the chance to meet otherwise.

AS A CLINICIAN

My education includes a Bachelors of Science in Sociology from Suffolk University and a Masters of Social Work from Salem State College.  I am an independently licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  I have worked in different practice settings but community based and outpatient mental/behavioral health have a special place in my heart.  My clinical practice has included treating various mental health conditions among children and adults; including severe and persistent mental illness.  My counseling style pulls from a variety of therapeutic modalities to create an individualized treatment approach.  Some techniques I employ include elements of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Harm Reduction, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Solution Focused Brief Treatment. I believe that emotional/mental health and well-being is paramount to living a fulfilling life and have been humbled to watch the transformation of some of the people I have worked with through the years. I am also passionate about the use of technology and virtual platforms to improve the way behavioral health conditions are treated and managed.  For the convenience of my clients, my counseling services are delivered through secure video conferencing (telehealth).  I believe it is important to love what you do for a living - and have never doubted that social work and counseling was the right field for me.
